I don’t look for omens I don’t look to the stars I don’t check my horoscope I don’t look that far But when I look up, on a Monday afternoon I noticed, that the sun’s blocked by the moon I thought I had found the one The moon eclipsed the sun

I don’t need a sign from God To tell me what to do I don’t need a word of the wise To let me see things through But when I look up, on a Monday afternoon I noticed, that the sun’s blocked by the moon I thought I had found the one The moon eclipsed the sun

I don’t wonder what’s in store Or how I should act anymore I don’t need a show of faith Or a moment that seems out of place But when I look up, on a Monday afternoon I noticed, that the sun’s blocked by the moon I thought I had found the one The moon eclipsed the sun

He was a spirited kid, which meant that he was stubborn I was stepping around that spirit as a step dad making blunders I had to stop and step and stand up for the kid he was And now he’s growing up, I’m there just because Oh that spirit’s taking over me I can begin again so easily When I stay afloat, I hope that hope I hope that spirit’s taking over me I was a tending bar, pouring spirits from a flask But the pour was too heavy so it spilled over the glass I had to stop and sip and measure what hadn’t yet tipped out Still I served another round, bottled down and closed it out Oh that spirit’s taking over me I can begin again so easily When I stay afloat, I hope that hope I hope that spirit’s taking over me I worked with a spirited boss, which meant I was ghosted The check never arrived, and the work was stolen Still I stopped and split and worked on spec and finally got rolling Never stopped to step on the spirit and just kept on going Oh that spirit’s taking over me I can begin again so easily When I stay afloat, I hope that hope I hope that spirit’s taking over me

It’s a cloudy grey day and I’m trapped inside With a cup of hot tea and my dog by my side But the thought of the long summer keeps me going strong It’ll keep me through all winter long I dream of green fields and blue skies Warm sun and good times With a big wave and a bright shine It’s all about that green fields and blue skies When I was a little boy, I had so much time I had so many things to do and a beginner’s mind There was so much to discover, and no way to see it all But I had a lot to find out, still I answered that call I dream of green fields and blue skies Warm sun and good times With a big wave and a bright shine It’s all about that green fields and blue skies When I thought about the past and this moment that has gone There’s a glimpse of what’s been happening and that hope lingers on When I wonder if there’s another way to make it all come through I feel the storm clouds forming and I know just what to do I dream of green fields and blue skies Warm sun and good times With a big wave and a bright shine It’s all about that green fields and blue skies

Come follow me Into the depths of poverty For I have a ton of new ideas inspired But I couldn't deliver on them if I tried Come, take me on I'll be your anchor as a good luck charm I've been trying to fly into a plate glass window Thinking I've been there before but this flight is hindered Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on... Let's make this official Sign on the dotted line, I will deliver! Come help me out I've been living in the shadows, in the shadow of a doubt I need to scream about what happened years before In a comedy of errors, the tragedy is in the making of what's in store Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on... Let's make this official Sign on the dotted line, I will deliver! Come, be a pal I'll be here all night, so they say, for a few hours I had a reason to inspire, but the timing has now expired I was overdue for once and this delivery has been lost or retired Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on... Let's make this official Sign on the dotted line, I will deliver!

There’s a wall in the way There’s no light in the dark There’s a zen reframe And a mantra to start When it’s time to get behind the wheel again If there’s nowhere to turn, turn to a friend It’s your turn to keep it light It’s your turn to make it easy It’s your turn to get free flowing It’s your turn to work solidly There’s a block in the chain And a ghost in your head There’s a sharp dull pain But still have fun instead When it’s time to get behind the wheel again If there’s nowhere to turn, turn to a friend It’s your turn to keep it light It’s your turn to make it easy It’s your turn to get free flowing It’s your turn to work solidly When I had lost faith I had nowhere to turn But I set my mind to make A long flame to burn When it’s time to get behind the wheel again If there’s nowhere to turn, turn to a friend It’s your turn to keep it light It’s your turn to make it easy It’s your turn to get free flowing It’s your turn to work solidly

Was It Fate? 03:51
It’s a new year and I’m back to old things Digging up the past and saying new beginnings I tried to start fresh, but it’s still happening Playing the waiting game, and still chasing rings Was it fate, or just happenstance Was it too late, or just up to chance Was it space or just distance Was it the wait or just circumstance Speaking of old times, there’s friends here Coming back again with some new fan cheer Eating from bowls with a silver spoon Coming to you from your living room Was it fate, or just happenstance Was it too late, or just up to chance Was it space or just distance Was it the wait or just circumstance While robots with their algorithms Creating outputs like it’s long division Flooding the market with some new half time Develop rhythms while they write the rhymes Was it fate, or just happenstance Was it too late, or just up to chance Was it space or just distance Was it the wait or just circumstance I’m just waiting for the clouds to form I’m just waiting for the psychic to warn While you’re calling out the world that’s warm I’m just here trying to weather the storm Was it fate, or just happenstance Was it too late, or just up to chance Was it space or just distance Was it the wait or just circumstance Was it fate, or just happenstance Was it too late, or just up to chance Was it space or just distance Was it the wait or just circumstance

In a dusty town where shadows sway, Lived an outlaw named Will Fate, they say, A desperado with eyes so cold, His tale twisted, as the legend was told. Will Fate, locked in a cell, A story of darkness, where shadows dwell, Whispers of crime in the moonlit night, A ballad of Will Fate's fateful plight. Through the canyons and the twisted trails, Will rode hard, leaving dust and tales, A bandit's heart, with a pistol's gleam, A haunted outlaw, lost in a dream. Will Fate, locked in a cell, A story of darkness, where shadows dwell, Whispers of crime in the moonlit night, A ballad of Will Fate's fateful plight. In a tavern brawl, tempers flared, A life was taken, the town declared, Will Fate, his hands stained red, Now shackled in a cell, where justice is led. Behind iron bars, where the cold winds wail, Will Fate reflects on a twisted trail, The echo of a gunshot, haunting his mind, A ballad of choices, fate intertwined. Will Fate, locked in a cell, A story of darkness, where shadows dwell, Whispers of crime in the moonlit night, A ballad of Will Fate's fateful plight. Now the town sleeps with a heavy weight, A ballad echoes of Will Fate, In a jail cell, where shadows fade, The outlaw's destiny, forever chained.

You were hidden in plain sight You were the darkness when I needed light It wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t that right I made a wrong turn that night I didn’t remember your name, but you thought you could take mine We were at the start of something, but that something was in your mind Once in a while this type of thing just clicks But I was taken with another, and that thought made you sick You were hidden in plain sight You were the darkness when I needed light It wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t that right I made a wrong turn that night I saw you after my evening set You hung around for a while, taking it in I had another, and I kept my distance When you showed up again, I had to mention it You were hidden in plain sight You were the darkness when I needed light It wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t that right I made a wrong turn that night It’s not fair to you to disambiguate You could be for me, but now it’s much too late I wasn’t thinking when I let you in Now this home’s a vampire’s nest, and the walls are caving in You were hidden in plain sight You were the darkness when I needed light It wasn’t wrong, but it wasn’t that right I made a wrong turn that night

Sam Houston drew a line in the sand Said “Everyone who crosses will fight Mexicans” And one by one his men stepped forward Except one man, who had no Mexican grudge towards He said “when all is said and done You’ll need a survivor to run And tell the tale of Sam Houston’s last stand I’m a French hired gun, and I’ll be here when you’re gone So long,” said Moses Rose, hired gun at the Alamo There were four Jews hired at the Alamo Three didn’t survive, they had nowhere to go But if it wasn’t for Moses Rose at the Alamo We wouldn’t know what happened to Sam and the Texans overthrown Sam Houston’s dead, but there’s still that Yellow Rose Of Texas, but don’t call him a coward, he stood his ground and didn’t slow For the victors live to tell the tale, Survivors still survive For that Yellow Moses Rose of Texas, well he was still alive For that Yellow Moses of Texas, that’s who I’d like to be For all of them dead Texans, well he’s still roaming free That Yellow Moses Rose of Texas, he’s a survivor just like me I’m six strings singing songs for him, he’s a Rose telling the story. He said “when all is said and done You’ll need a survivor to run And tell the tale of Sam Houston’s last stand I’m a French hired gun, and I’ll be here when you’re gone So long,” said Moses Rose, hired gun at the Alamo

Don’t defecate where you eat Should you date where you live? After a year of dating, it gets serious So I hear there’s an open house, right next door With rent below market and a rightward slanting floor We were on a solid foundation, but now there’s a crack a forming If we don’t address the cause, may this be a warning It needs a bit of work put in, a level ground to work on Your slanted house would fall on mine, and in a flash I’d be gone The girl next door with a suitcase in her hand Moving towns, signs the lease, starts to settle in The way this house is settling there’s a lean to the right If your house collapsed on mine, can you still stay here for the night? We were on a solid foundation, but now there’s a crack a forming If we don’t address the cause, may this be a warning It needs a bit of work put in, a level ground to work on Your slanted house would fall on mine, and in a flash I’d be gone You moved next door for a home closer to work It was a fixer upper with a few fixes that were shirked A heater broken, a kitchen with a draft Living on a mole hill, the basement on a slant We were on a solid foundation, now the grounds uneven If we keep this going, will we last another season? This house may not be built to last, but it’s the home we’re living in If that feeling of home is broken is that the feeling we’re choosing?
